ADVICE AND ARREST AT
POLICE STATIONS
All persons arrested and detained at police stations are
entitled to receive free advice, which is independent of the
police. Clients who are interviewed are entitled to advice and
assistance, and we shall attend on request for that purpose
whatever the time of day.
The police have details on how to contact us, whether our
offices are open or closed.

CALL 24 HOUR SERVICE

closed is 07699 747 663. This number is for police station

MOTORING OFFENCES
The more minor motoring offences are started by service of
a summons and heard at the Magistrates' Courts.
We are able to assist on a private basis or in some
instances CDS Public Funding (Legal Aid) may be available.

THE MAGISTRATES'
COURT
All offences charged or commenced by way of summons (e.g.
motoring offences) will be started at, and many will remain
in, the Magistrates' Courts. In many instances CDS Public
Funding (Legal Aid) is available to cover the proceedings in
full.
We are able to represent all clients who ask for assistance
at the Magistrates' Courts, whether local to us or in another
part of the country.

THE CROWN COURT
The most serious criminal matters must be dealt with at the
Crown Court and there is also the choice for some less serious
matters to have your trial at the Crown Court as well. The
firm has a huge amount of experience dealing with the full
range of offences which are dealt with at the Crown Court. For
the most serious matters a senior solicitor will always assist
you. We have close links with many barristers and will try to
handpick the right barrister for your case.
CDS Public Funding (Legal Aid) is virtually always
available for cases heard in the Crown Court.

COMPLEX CASES
The firm has a great deal of experience assisting those
charged with complex matters, irrespective of how serious they
are, and whether they are heard before the Magistrates' or
crown Courts. Public Funding (Legal Aid) will usually be
available and a senior solicitor will assist you.

JUDICIAL REVIEW
On some occasions public bodies (e.g. the police or courts)
make decisions, which may be fundamentally wrong. The criminal
department is able to, and does, challenge such matters in an
effort to have the decisions changed and/or re-considered.
Public Funding (Legal Aid) is usually available for judicial
review proceedings.
