Work and Clients: Paul Butler brought over 20 years
of experience as a Solicitor to Knight & Co when he joined
in the autumn of 2002. Paul’s interest and specialisation
focuses on Mental Health Law, an area of work that he has
specialised in since the late 1980’s, and he has represented
patients from Hospitals across the Wessex area. He has seen
this area of Law increase rapidly over recent years. He
qualified as a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health
Review Tribunal Panel in 1991, and, as well as acting as
advocate for patients, continues to spend part of his time
chairing Tribunals. He also specialises in representing
Criminal Clients with Mental Health problems.
Outside work: When not working, Paul enjoys walking
and also loves to travel. He has a particular interest in
Third World development and is an active supporter of Fair
Trade.
